Baptism
Baptism Forms/Information
|
"Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church [God’s family] and made sharers in her mission.” — From the Catechism of the Catholic Church, §1213
After life itself, Baptism is the greatest gift you can give your newborn child as it opens the door for him/her to enter eternal life and it permits God to love your child unconditionally. It’s our tradition to celebrate this Sacrament with the greater community during a Sunday Mass, usually the 11:00am. Below are the parent and godparent forms to have your child baptized. According to Church law, one of the godparents must be a baptized Catholic practicing the faith, as it is his/her responsibility to help raise the child in the Catholic faith. If you haven’t had a child baptized before, we will provide a brief preparation to help you understand more about the what it is you are asking for from God’s Church and what responsibilities that entails. If you have any questions, contact us for more details. |
