Becoming Catholic & Confirmation Prep for Adults
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a journey that prepares men and women to make a conscious choice to become full members of the Catholic Church. It is a chance for people to learn the basics of Catholicism, get their questions answered, integrate into the parish community, and seek ways to open their lives to Jesus more fully.
Are you interested in becoming a Catholic?
We have an ongoing and open-ended RCIA process for anyone discerning whether to become Catholic. We believe people should have the freedom to begin this journey when they are ready. We want to ensure we are addressing their spiritual and intellectual needs in a personal way.
RCIA is ordered around the four pillars of the Christian faith: the Apostles’ Creed, the liturgy and the sacraments, the moral life, and the life of prayer. Integral to the journey is the study of Sacred Scripture – especially the Gospels – and experiencing life within a Catholic community through social events and mornings of reflections.
The RCIA journey typically culminates on Easter Vigil when candidates are fully initiated into the Church through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Communion.
Are you a baptized Catholic in need of making First Communion and/or Confirmation?
If you are a baptized Catholic in need of completing your Sacraments of Initiation (Confirmation and First Communion), we can adapt the RCIA journey to meet your specific needs. You will be able to begin the process whenever you are ready, and the reception of the Sacraments can take place outside the Easter Vigil, pending your readiness and discernment.
